36500 elephants are killed every year! I, for me, can’t still believe it 🙁
As a symbolic and really courageous gesture more than 1,5 tonnes of seized ivory was destroyed leading up to a press conference where the current state of the illegal trade in ivory was discussed. Before and after the press conference ambassadors from several European and African countries were also invited for a picture.
